DRIVEN BY PURPOSE. POWERED BY YOU.
We’re a small charity, supporting locally-led healthcare in rural Uganda.

Share Uganda exists to support Ugandan medical professionals, delivering essential care in communities where healthcare is often out of reach. We don’t run programmes. We fund people - local clinicians - doing the real work, day in and day out.

No international salaries. Just trusted partnerships and impact that lasts.

Our Mission

Our Mission

To support community-led healthcare in rural Uganda by funding and partnering with local medical professionals who deliver essential, dignified care - every day, to those who need it most.

Our Vision

A Uganda where everyone can access the healthcare they deserve - led by their own community, sustained with dignity, and free from the limits of poverty.

Our work centres on a rural community in Southern Uganda, where access to care is limited and the need is high. The health centre sees over 400 patients each month and often acts as the only accessible care provider in the region. Combined with local community outreach, we support people living in Kabira and surrounding areas.

What makes us different

We’re a small charity with a simple approach: local leadership, long-term relationships, and complete transparency.

We believe lasting change comes from within communities, not from outside them, and everything we do reflects that belief.

Locally led

Our health centre is run entirely by Ugandan professionals. We don’t fly in foreign teams. We back the people already doing the work.

Volunteer run in the UK

We don’t pay international staff and our overheads are minimal, allowing the vast majority of every donation to go straight to our projects.

Built on trust

We’ve worked alongside community leaders in Kabira for over 15 years. Our partnership is rooted in respect, not hierarchy.

Focused impact

We do one thing well: fund primary healthcare where it’s most needed. And we do it simply, sustainably, and with care.

Share Uganda was founded in 2008 by a small group of volunteers who couldn’t walk away

After witnessing the urgent need, and the deep strength, of the Kabira community, a group of volunteers from Northern Ireland decided to take action. From there, Share Uganda was formed.

Today, we’re still entirely volunteer-run in the UK. We work in close partnership with our Ugandan colleagues, who lead our services on the ground. Together, we make sure every pound raised funds real, life-saving work.
